I have some vinyl door panels that are the wrong color for what I am trying to do and was curious if anybody has had any luck with spraying a door panel with " vinyl/fabric paint". Im looking for the cheapest way to change the colors on these panels with out have to come off a whole buncha cash.....Any tips????

I'm actually in the process of paint all of my tan interior black. SEM vinyl dye is supposed to be one of the best paints to use, and thats what I used. So far I have noticed it chips easy, but i'm thinking it might take at least a few weeks before the paint aand clear coat cures enough to bond better. I might should have used a bonding agent first, i'm not sure. Right now its a work in progress, so I can't give you any definite results as of yet.

I have seen 'painted vinyl' before and in all honesty, it isn't very good. As Pantera says, it chips really easy and ends up looking bad quickly. I would think a better route, other than living with what you have, would be to find a wrecker who has the interior with the color you need. Expensive yes, but if you screw your own interior you'll be buying replacements anyway in the end.

Pantera,I would have thought the Black interior you're striving for is the most common, I'm sure you could find somebody looking for Tanto swap interiors with [?].....

It's called Bulldog Adhesion Promoter - just looked at my can of it and says on lable it can be used on vinyl. I've used it on plastic parts with great success, never used it on vinyl. You can pick it up at Wal Mart in the auto paint section for about $7.00/can (spary can).
