This has been discussed here before, and I think the general concensus is that tires can make all the difference in the world. For me, it has.

Best advice is to just slow down. Back in the day before FWD cars, we had no option except 4x4's. We put on snow tires, added weight in the back, slowed down and went down the road. Yes, some ended up in the ditch but that still happens. With ABS and traction control, it's a walk in the park. If you can't drive this car in the snow, better stay home or take the bus. If you are in an accident, I feel tons safer in this side airbag car than I did in my old 67 or 69.

If you take it slow, and keep it SMOOTH (no abrupt rpm/gear/direction/braking changes) I think the new Mustang actually doeswellin most conditions. Much better in blizzards than my 5.0 did! Good advice regarding the supplies in the trunk, snow tires and full fuel level.

Thanks everyone! I'm definately adding that winter survival gear that everyone is talking about, along with a mini shovel. And I'm definately going to an empty lot to get a real good feel for this thing in the snow. Buying a beater isnt an option for me unfortunately. Anyway, I'd rather die in a Mustang than some 80s buick

Just as you learned in drivers easy sab, easy steering, accelerating and breaking. Do all these and you will be fine. The other advice I give is watch out for sault, even though the road looks dry the sault will make you slide.
