You got the v-6 emblem or maybe the trunk lid on your car was traded with a v-6. I heard this happened at a local dealership. They had a GT with the spoiler and some guy wanted to buy the car and pay cash, except he didn't want the spoiler. The dealership got a trunk lid from a V-6 without the spoiler and put it on the GT. (I don't know if they swaped the emblem)

Yeah my car definately has the V-6 emblem on the back and not the GT. I drove by a v-6 and it had the same emblem as I do. I definately have to take it back to the dealership now. Maybe it was a factory screwup.

omg are u freaking crazy dude!!! dont get that fixed!! little things like that will make ur car more valuble over the years. it will make ur 2005 mustang GT alot more valueble then the reg GT's. just 4real take my advice and do not get that fixed.

As 1fast05GT said, it probably happened at the dealership, not the factory, so that wouldn't make it any more valuable.
The most important thing is this: Do you want the GT emblem back there? If you do, then go get them to fix/replace it. If you like the pony emblem, then keep it. Do whatever will make you happy with your car.

Again I don't think that it will be worth more, even if it is done by the factory. If I remember correctly, the VIN number is not stamped anywhere on the trunk, so there would be no way to prove that the trunk didn't get swapped from another vehicle or that it was a factory mistake.

I talked to my dealer about it and he said that it came from the factory that way, that nothing was done to it at the dealership. He said if I want the "GT" emblem that he'll order the correct emblem at no cost to me. I sort of like that pony emblem though so I just might keep it. [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

I'd keep it. We're all trying to make our rides unique and I think this is a neat way to ensure you've got a unique ride. I know it's not new shiny wheels or mods to the engine but this one didn't cost you $$$ and it is different than other GT's!
