When I ordered my GT the dealer told me that it would be a good idea to ditch the IUP and get the Sports Appearance Pakage instead. He told me it was a four to five month wait for cars with IUP. I still waited for 2 1/2 months to ge my car. Did get forced into this sale because of the impending lawsuit involved with the my color fiasco? What's the word??? [8D]

When I placed my order in October I ordered the IUP and the first week in January I was told it was no longer offered. So I went with the Sports appearance package and received my car on 2/19. I am not that upset about the My Color but I really wanted the side air bags. But the car looks great anyway.

Same here. I ordered mine with the IUP at the end of November but was told around xmas time I would have to wait until probably March. The dealer told me it was because of a robotic system being down. When I told him about the law suit, he said he hadn't heard a thing about it. Anyway, I went with the sport package and got my car the begining of February, have no complaints. Black outside, all black inside looks good to me.

Sports appearance....whats the difference? I bought the IUP off the dealers lot. Mine is 2 tones red and black. Is that the difference?

The Sports Appearance Packages does not have a lot of the metel trim, My Color and there are more gauges ( Oil, Battery etc. ). By changing to the Sports Appearance packages I saved about $800.00.

There has been a lot of conflicting information here in the forums on this one. The differant angles all come from different Ford sources. Not sure we every get the straight up. I grabbed a dealership allotment car as it came off the truck. It had the sport's app. Pk, no IUP. I like it fine, no one I have had in the car, and they all love it, knows enough about the 05's to look for a little more aluminum, two extra small gauges, or the color changes.

I would have taken the car either way.

I wonder.. even without the IUP installed.. The guages and light source are the same right? Is it possible for someone to find a way to change the colors without the option ordered? a variable risister? something.. haha

The instrument cluster on the IUP has more gauges then the standard one. I think there is an actual oil gauge instead of a dummy light. If this is wrong someone tell me.

Having read through lots of the posts here in the '05 forum I feel really fortunate. Everyone talks about ordering their car and waiting months to get it. I went to my dealership on a Friday night, and they had two of the exact package I wanted, one Silver and one Windveil Blue. I took the Windveil Blue right there on the spot, and that was that.
