I really like my factory alarm but this is the second night it went off. And I don't know why. When I first got it it went off once because it rolled a little because I was on a hill and forgot to put it in gear and I liked that. Last night I was parked under a tree with a light behind it and I thought maybe the wind was causing the shadow of the tree in my car to move and it maybe tripped the sensors inside so I move and all was well. But tonight I don't know what it was could be a cat, if so damn because I haven't used my BB gun in years and may be rusty.lol. But really if this becomes a problem can the dealer program it to only go off if a window is broken, a door is opened, it roll's, etc.? I really wish the alarm could give real codes besides "security event pccurred"! Also if it were to go off and I'm sleeping and never hear it would it kill my battery?

I read somewhere you can reprogram them yourselves to change the sensitivity. there was a post on that about a month ago that I saw I believe. And if it doesnt kill your battery it will probablypiss off a few neighbors lol

Just a thought, but...

Is it a mercury sensor switch on the car? My old car with an aftermarket alarm used to go off all the time when it got really cold; the mercury would go to one end of the switch and set it off.

the trash truck in my alley can set off my alarm. Or most Harleys. Anything that creates sound you can feel.
Of course, cheap, aftermarket alarms can go off for NO reason at all! I've seen them do it!
Usually it's most likely a faulty sensor.
I also heard about some Mustangs' alarms going off after a few minutes when parked, when the interior light shuts off.
