Check the runners for dirt or anything which might make the window motor work harder. it's sensing an over current and refusing to lift the window. Maybe a bit of oil/grease on the mechanics might halp.

I'd say a sticky/dirty window switch, pull the switch & clean it and apply some dielectric grease.

so you think it might be the switch itself? i went to the track today and im worried some of that white shoe polish may have screwed it up somehow. i wouldnt even know how/wehere to clean out the piece that needs cleaning...

has your car died on you latley? i remember my battery went dead and it messed up my power up on my driver side, all they have to do is reset something at the dealership. also when you power down if it makes a CLUNK noise when it hits the bottom its some part in the door, ill find my reciept for the service and let you know what the part is.

Mine did the same thing after the Skipper didn't power down properly (didn't notice) & flattened the battery. As you've discovered there is a reset procedure in the handbook.
