Default OUCH! Gear Gringing! FOPAR or not?

Guys I had a little FOPAR, last night leaving work... My buddy with an S2000 and I decided to race a little, I was kicking his a$$, BUT... There was a point in our little adventure, through traffic, where I may have had a small brain fart and wound up grinding some gears, OUCH. I was shifting from 2nd to 3rd, and wound up gringing gears at 5500 RPM. HOLY CRAP! It was a god awful sound, and for a split second I thought I ruined my tranny. I took a deep breath...slowed down and relaxed. The car seemed to be running fine afterward, I took it for a spin on the highway, babying it, then riding the gears out, the car seemed to be fine. I got home, looked under the car, nothing unusual, seemed to be fine. I went in the house, and started to stew, I hope she was ok. I finally went out to the garage, got in the car and took it for another ride, just to be sure. Everything was fine. What kind of damage, if any, might have been caused from this episode? And, should I be on the lookout for any strange behaviors? I really, appreciate the input guys, I've been a mess since last night...[sm=smiley19.gif]

you're fine, just get better with your shifter or get one that is more sure of itself

and I believe the word you're looking for is "faux pas"

You should be ok as long as you don't do it ALL THE TIME.

These things are fairly durable.
