Good job on the 13.4!! I found that cooling is a MAJOR part also, but i never have enough patience. I let the car cool for about 1 hour then gained .2 second after each cooldown. Combined with a good 2.0 launch/ tires loweredand u can see 13.5's! When i go to the track, im there for fun, and run 20+ times a night( thats right 20) but i dont let the car cool, thus hurting my times, but ill take a .2 or .3 less from the heatsoak. How long did u let yours cool for( between runs, 3 runs a night, 4 hours makes it like 1 or 1.5 hours of cooling?) Also, have you tried a bag of ice on the intake?
Powershift is holding your throttle to the floor, and shifting, and never liftng on the throttle, that way you nevercut the engine or let off, just floored. If you dont shift fast enough, u bounce the rev limiter and im guessing that will slow u. I tried powershifting ,my 71 because it had no revlimiter, so it just sang really high when i shifted and made it run better times! -Jon

curiousty though, is anyone shifting to 4th gear? 3 rd gear i run it to the limiter which ends up hitting at about 25 feet past the trap. id almost be afraid to go faster cause then i would have to shift to 4th at the end of the run.

the reason more stock mustang gt's don't run 13.4 or less in the 1/4 is because not many can resist the CAI/tune mod.

Shifting to 4th will hurt your ET. Get an intake and tune and you won't have to worry about hitting the rev limiter. I've trapped 106 in 3rd and I still had some rpms to go with the stock gears and brenspeed tune.

I let the car cool down as much time as i sat in line for the next run. about an hour to an hour and a half. and since it was 40 degrees with a light wind, and left the hood open the whole time, it cooled down quick, considering it got shut off as soon as i got back in line, and i pushed it all the way through the line so i didnt have to start it. lol.

Nope I was leaving at 3000-3500 rpm and feathering the clutch about 30'. Clutch would then fully lock up with tires fully hooked up until
around 4500 rpm in first. At that point the ChargeMotion Plates in the intake open and when that happened on some passes
the car would light up the rear tires. It was only 1750 rpm or so from the limiter so if you didnt short shift second quickly it would bang the rev limiter in 1st.
I only tried powershifting 1-2 a couple of times and it went sideways on the shift both times. Traction was just flat bad for the all-seasons with 120F surface temps (90F and Bright Sunlight).

on a dusty street I can prove it
if I get the RMP's over 2500quickly the TCS starts kicking in and the rear starts sliding but if I don't let the RPM's go over 2500 thenI can hit it as hard as I want as long as I let off there and it stays stable
and there are other tests on the internet that show this
so unless they changed it for the stick or for 07 its at 2500

So i went to the track for the first time this past sunday with the only mods being an SLP loudmouth AB. (which if anything would give me less power) and thanks to the member that posted all the tips about the Tire pressures and such i was able to run the following.
1rst run: 13.758
2nd run: 13.420
3rd run: 13.428
Weather was perfect! like mid 40's no humidity.
if i hooked up better i bet i could hit 13.3's no problem. prob. even 13.2 with perfect everything. lol. So to all the confused souls out there with S197 Stock GT's.....it can be done! ive never raced the car before and ive never raced on a 1/4 track and never raced a RWD car either. Freakin LED lights though to quick for me. R/T's were only like .333's
SLIPS: (car number was 9302) i raced Banka87 in his V6 stang and a spoon civic twice.
