Default Insurance Costs...

My TorchRed GT is not due for another two months...What do I have to look forward to in insurance premiums? High or not too bad for the car type? Any ideas on where to get the best rates?

Don't see an age posted, or in your profile. I am over 40, and pay State Farm Ins. $391.66 every 6 mo.

Qutec, where do you live? I am 32 and live in Washington state, I am paying 80 a month for my old 95 4runner alone. I have no accidents either. State Farm may be the problem? Damn I have 20% discount rate for no accidents ever...I am almost afraid to call them. My car arrives in three weeks....

I am paying $480 for a 6 month policy. I am 35 and have a clean record with no claims on my policy. I also have a few discounts on the account like multi car and multi policy. Company is Allstate. I am also carrying 100/300 as my wife uses her car to haul kids during field trips. We live in the Bay Area of Northern California.

I am gonna take all my speeding tickets and staple them together and release it as a NOVEL...

Insurance is a racket...

Check the laws in your state, but in many places insurance is one of two options... the other is to be able to show financial resposiblity... for instance you can put 10G's in the bank and not have to have insurance at all...

However this does not protect you from injury/death lawsuits... but IMO I would rather risk it...

insurance is a racket, but i cant see how having 10k in the bank at all times is the way to go. if you have that kind of money just sitting in checking maybe you should invest it, dont know the laws where you live but there are lots of short term investments that are still liquid if you need acess to that money. even if it means that you have to pay 120 bucks a month, your gonna make at least that off your investment. i dont wanna tell anyone how to run their **** but i just dont see how that could work in your favor.

f-ing insurance companies would never let a policy get thru a state government that would make it cheaper for you to do anything yourself than it would be for them to do it for you. how would they get their cut? its is outragous that bill gates has to have car insurance...
