I think it's misinformation given to you...Otherwise, ONLY the dealers could do tire rotations, because they'd have to reset your sensors every time you had the tires rotated (in which case, it'd better be pretty close to FREE for them to do it, because then they're FORCING you to go to the dealership for a tire rotation).

If the dealer won't help, or you want 2 sets of wheels, you could get the bands from American Muscle, as was already stated. The sensor part number is 6F2Z-1A189-A, and is available from several parts sites, e.g.

I paid about $44@ for the sensors, total about $200 for all sensors & bands. The dealer programmed mine for free, though Discount Tire could have. The programming takes about 2 minutes, all 4 wheels, if they know what they're doing. I watched them do it.
