Default New 08 GT/CS Tire monitor help!!!

Hello all. We just traded our 06 GT vert for an 08 GT/CS vert. It's loaded and HAWT!!!! Anyway, we had some deep dish 18x9 chrome rims that we swapped at the dealer. meaning I gave them the new polished aluminum ones that came with the CS because we wanted to keep our chrome rims. No problem. They look great. However, as we are driving down the highway, an alarm goes off and the flat tire light appears. In the info section, it says Tire Pressure Monitoring System fault. I get the owners manual out and apparantly the stock rims had a sensor in them for the cars monitoring system. Well, now that we don't have them anymore, is there a way to disengage this system? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Wow im supprised that the ford dealership put those rims on w/o the new sensors, i guess they thought you had them on already. All you need is to get new bands on them and it will work i ordered my sensor bands from americanmuscle.com and i think there is a way to get rid of the "alarm" just not sure how but im sure some1 on this forum will.

Actually you will also have to buy the sensors in addition to the bands (OP says that he let the dealership keep the original wheels). I was quoted 700 bucks for bands, sensors, installation and balancing.

Exactly what I was thinking.
But I also think the dealer still has the rims and should get them back for you. If not they should supply you with replacements. My 2 cents.

This happened to me. I had busted all 4 bands in my foose wheels. The dealer guy said it was the first time anyone had accomplished doing that, he said it happened because i went too fast (135)

Thanks everyone. Are the sensors located inside the tire around the rims?
