Bullitt to receive special H pipe and Mufflers???????????
Yea so I was curious if anyone has some input or especially PICS on the 08' Bullitt's special H-pipe and Muffler combo that it will come with. According to this http://mustangs.about.com/od/modelye...08-bullitt.htm we'll obviously notice the larger tips, but id like to see if they've done anything different with the cats, crossover point, diameter of exhaust etc. I guess the goal was to "mimic" the sound of the previous bullitt featured in the movie, but IMO those would be some pretty big shoes to fill, given how totally different cars are today than those decades ago

A little Birdy told me its the same X-Pipe and GTA Mufflers used on the Shelby GT.
The only real mechanical difference in the 2007 Shelby GT and 2008 Bullitt is the new crank damper, different cam timing, and improved CAI, and 3.73 axle. Most if not all these parts will be seen in the 2008 Shelby GT and some in the standard GT as well. Some (CAI for instance) will also replace the current item in the FRPP Catalog.
The Shelby GT is rated at 319 bhp (93 Octane) and the Bullitt at 314 bhp (87 Octane) but the PCM's have maps for both regular and premium so in reality the bhp output for both is the same.

Does anyone know how many black ones will be made? I heard there is only going to be seven something thousand units to be made altogether. Another thing the horsepower is lower than the Shelby GT however it does have higher gears (3:73). Someone told me here earlier that higher gears though quicker off the start and mid-acceleration can also take a few horses away. Anyone want to intervene?
