Great Book For Mustang Lovers
Has anyone picked up this book?
It would make a great Christmas gift.
Mustang Dynasty by John M. Clor
It includes an audio CD, which is kinda weird, but pretty cool. It has different cars, such as a 67 Shelby, all the way up to a 99 Cobra, then to a 2005 GT launching. I can only think of one purpose of having this disc.(this use involves aCD player, my fender guitar amp, a stop lightand some incredbly perplexed other drivers trying to figure outhow I got my car to sound just like a 67 Shelby, while noteven moving)You have to hear it at least once to see how weird it is. At first I thought it maybe had some stories about the cars, but all it has is cars getting on it and letting you hear the full range of the exhaust. It is kinda cool to compare the sound of a 67 Shelby to that of an 05 GT.
The other interesting thing about this book is that in between chapters, it has little folders with reproductions of specific mustang related memorabilia. I just opened it and the first one I came to is a 1967 Color Guide Selector manual. No, these are not the real deal, but they are done well enough to give you an idea of what the original pieces were like. It has maybe 20 of these things all about diferent years. It has a birthday card from Ford on the 20th anniversary of the car...stickers, and other wacky stuff. The rest of the book is the history of the mustang from conception all through every special model, and it even has 07 and 08 stuff at the end. I have not read the whole thing, but judging from the way it is put together, I would bet it is pretty accurate.
As the self proclaimed, official book reviewer of MF, I give it a thumbs up.
The cost is $24.95 in US dollars.

RE: Great Book For Mustang Lovers
I was somewhat shocked when I read that post and realized I don't have a tape player anywhere at all. No old walkmans, no old car stereo's, nothing. I even pitched my home stereo cassette player a few years ago. Now if I were to buy something with an audio cassette, I'd have no way of listening to it. I wonder how many other people are in the same position...
