Hmmm, I paid about $500 for my gear/powertrax rearend install in my truck and that was with the install kit provided by me. An SCT2 is about $400. Dyno runs are usually $100 a pop.

That's a grand right there. Converter install I think I was quoted $300 or so in my truck. I think the delete plate install is kind of involved also, prob another couple hundred install. It may notthat bad of a deal, but I would shop it around for sure.

If they're not including the SCT2 unit, then it does sound a bit high. I layed down some serious cash to have my initial install done but now the shop considers me a good customer and I can drop by for small things like re-tightening header bolts, quick checkups, use of their liftfor inspections and such. It's good to make friends with a reputable shop in your area and most honest ones will work with you.

And I wouldn't just bring it to Joe Blow's mechanic shop. I use a specialized mustang performance shop here in the Austin, TX area (www.motion-dynamics.net).

There should be some performance-oriented shops in your area. Troll the forums, you'll locate one with good rep.

he's getting a dyno tune...not a pull.... a quality tuner gets 250-500 for a tune... in the NY metro area shops get from 85-115 an hour for labor.....and it does include the x-cal

I've had all my work done at this shop.... many of stang owners I know go there as well.... they are trust worthy, honest, reliable and do top quailty work!

I've never heard anything other then high marks for them.
