Hmm you're right 05gtdriver it's only a difference of 1800. Might as well go for that. The gas is the only thing that still concerns me. I drive anywhere from 16-32miles a day. Which i'm sure for some people isn't alot. But in my case it is in Anaheim CA. Which is pretty stop and go.

I got my 07 new in March and I’m really impressed with the quality. I haven’t owned a Ford in decades and I’m amazed how well Ford did with the design. It looks awesome, drives great and is pretty darn fast on 93 octane and a brenspeed tune. The only negative when I was considering the Mustang was the cheap price and the tainted image it has from all the ricer junk people stick on them.

I have an 06 GT 5-speed convertible. I run Brenspeed's 93 octane tune, and I beat on my car pretty good. I average about 17 or 18 miles a gallon. Sounds to me like you could double the number of cylinders on your little VW for the same mileage..

Hey guy ,I just sold a 93 eagle talon tsi awd w/ tons of mods and 91 galant vr-4 to get a new 07 gt 5m.I am in love.Great power, rides like $60kcar.The styling is so fresh ,everywhere i go i get compliments. As far mpg-if you drive it like grandma you shouldsee 20-28 mpg on 87.The talon ran 42lb injectors and I was lucky to see 100 miles out of 16gal tank! Hek my insurance dropped 20 bucks after taking the other two cars off.I would recomend get the esp plan to cya miles down the road,go a head do it!

I had this same thing a few months ago. The Mustang came out on top. Mileage so far has been pretty decent...close to 22mpg. My insurance would have been about the same on the GTi and the Mustang (25 single male). If youve had your vw for awhile youve no doubt experienced all the little quirks they have. Ive never had anything like those on any of my fords. If you go with the v8 I promise you wont be dissapointed. Oh and if your currently into the market look at the 07's. You can save yourself a little money if you can find one with the options you want. Managed to pick my gt up for around 20k after rebates.

19 MPG City / 29 MPG @ 70 MPH
Of course thats if you use the highest gear possible and keep your foot out of it.
Sorry, Im am likely 20 years older than yo so my insurance would not be comparable.
However it is in the same ballpark as an F150 fo me.
ESP Only if you absolutely cant afford the repairs and will not be modding at all!
The warranty supplier usually pays out$0.20-$0.40 in repairs per dollar the warranty costs.
