Lights
HI guys I have this question in my head, which lights bulbs to get.
I want 100/80 watts and a high wattedge for the fog-lights. I was looking at the brands Matrix and Street Glow, but I dont know which one to get. Could you help me out, also which types of bulbs do the driving and fog lights use? |
RE: Lights
um dontbuy those. street glows? lol. go with silverstars h13 and h11s

RE: Lights
id get some hids off of ebay there only like 75 shipped and i guarantee they are 2x brighter than any headlight our there and there only bout 20-30 bucks more... and that $75 is everything you need ballast bulb EVERYTHING

RE: Lights
Go with the Silverstars or a set of HIDs. I'm running a set of single Xenon bulbs from Ebay seller "hid4u" in my F150 with no problems.
|
RE: Lights
leave them stock or go hid's. dont do anything else.

RE: Lights
Dont change the wattage of the fogs or the headlights, you will have some serious problems. You will melt the reflector and the metal reflector shroud will come loose and rattle around in the headlight bucket, trust me it has already happened to me! HID would be a good alternative as the bulbs don't burn as hot as the stock bulbs. One last thing. The design of the fog bulb is unique to the mustang and only silverstar and the OEM bulb will work. Any other bulb regardless of wattage has the potential of damaging the fog light assembly. The bulb is desighned to be further away from the reflector thus keeping the heat away from melting the reflector and the base of the metal shroud.

Silverstars FTW

RE: Lights
I would go with HID's
I bought aftermarket lights...the ones in my sig picture and I HATE THEM.... the driver side seal is broken so there is moisture in there and they dont produce light what so ever. thats why my HID kit is in the mail and getting installed this weekend. |
RE: Lights
thanks guys, on the silverstar ultra, how bright is the light? how is their ilumination?
|
RE: Lights
they dont make an ultra for the stangs.. only the regular silverstars.. and honeslty.. i tried them the other day, one side stock one side silverstar.. NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL..
but whats this about $75 HID's on ebay?? the cheapest ive heard was 200 |
RE: Lights

RE: Lights
doing 80w/100w will also risk melting the harness. I did that on my last car and had to replace both headlight harnesses, headlight switch, and do minor surgery on the switch harness as it was melted too. Definately not worth the price to save a few bucks on the cheaper lights. If you want the blue xenon look, make sure they are 55/65w

RE: Lights
Much higher than stock wattage may damage your housings. I really like the Silverstars for headlamp replacements.
Silverstars in the fog lamp housings will reduce the effectiveness of the fogs. Plus, fog lights are NOT better brighter. IF you really intend to use fog lights as fog lights, replace the stock bulbs with 55W Hella Yellowstars. Warmer (more yellow) light is more effective in the fog. Otherwise, if you're looking for that "jet plane landing light" look, replace the fog lamp housings with driving lamps for a longer, more narrow throw. The stock fog lamps provide a short, wide throw no matter WHAT bulb you put in there. |
RE: Lights
Go to Resto-Solutions.com - all will be made clear. If you REALLY want bright, look at their 55 watt kit. Woof!
|
RE: Lights
restosolutions is cool but i was quoted a extra 100 dollars as i did myself on ebay just not adding up to me...
