Pretty sure.
I did a lot of reading and research (there's a great thread on another forum called Show Us Your Wheels - hundreds of pics, and lotsa pics at American Muscle for example) before ordering new wheels and this is what I have in my notes:
2005
18x9 +34 to +36
18x10 +38

I bought 18x9 +34mm with 255/45R18s. (pic below)

But you are correct, I just went and looked at my old 17x8 factory bullitts and they are 45mm.

The offset is incorrect. Look at it you are running 255's and the wheel is already almost out. If anything you should go higher in offset. I am running 275's on my stock rims and I think I will go more to the inside when I order some rims. I still have around 2 inches to push the wheel to the inside. And that is taking into acct the spare 3/4 of an inch I am leaving out due to that is the least space you can leave between a tire and the suspension in my opinion.

I couldn't say there wrong, if anything I'd say there a perfect fit. I hate that look when sit inside the fenders.

I'd say the offset is wrong once they go past the fenders.

Well with such a small tire then yes but go any wider and bam its outside the fender. I have 275's on my 8's, when I find a 18x10 Rim I like i will put 305's or 315's and with that offset they will be atleast an inch outside.

Are you running 275s on the front too? Holy cow.
(And 275s are a tad too wide for 8" rims IMO. )
I wouldn't call the 255s small - they are 10" wide after all...
And yeah, on my rims if I went any wider on the front they'd be outside the fenders, but on the rear 275s will fit and still not be outside. There's hundreds if not thousands out there set up that way...
I nearly went with staggered 9s and 10s and wider (275s or 285s) in the back. But this is daily transportation and I wanted to be able to rotate tires. The deep dish was a compromise to look good and remain "practical." (God I hate being old...)
