Radio replacement by Dealer
FYI, today I had the "Shaker 500" replaced due to skipping/bad cd failure. New one works very well. Checked the "self test" per this boards description and verified a "B" in the last code.
One warning though, ventilation fan stuck one on speed, dealer had to reconnect the wiring connection. They said there is not much room behind the volume(fan speed) dial for the A/C. So if you get the radio replaced verify all functions work before departing dealership.
Otherwise, replacement went well.
Next, new gas tank......

here it is, many thanks to Earl!!!!

The volume going up and down with acceleration is a feature. Press your menu button till you hit the speedvol (I think that is what it is called) setting and make sure it is at 0.
As for your radio version. With the radio on (not a CD) press your 3 and 6 preset buttons. The radio will enter a self test mode and at the end of it it will display your radio's serial number. If it ends in A you have an A version (and I can tell you it sounds like you do). If you have the later B version it will end in B.

Thanks Earl and Scottsat for the info, I just went out and did the self test on mine and it is an A Version. But I haven;t had any problems with the Radio or CD player but I guest it's only a matter of time. I've had my GT for two months and 2700.0 miles and I'm still just as happy as the night I took it home.
Thanks again

Dont forget the RDS featur also. hold down the menu botton it will say RDS on or off turn it on. then push botton again and scroll till show name. then you can use the up botton to set what type of music you like and when you hit scan it will scan for that music. kinda cool
