i thought it was #2 and #8. lol, dont believe old people

What he is talking about is changing the firing order. Maybe the "old people" know a thing or two smart ***.

well just thinkin about the 5.0 H.O. motors didnt they change the firing order up on those from the earlier 302's? maybe im wrong my memory is a little hazy,

The 5.0 HO (still a302)is like the 351W, same firing order : 13726548
Theregular 302 has a different firing order : 15426378. Same as the 289.

The old firing order (154...)was used until the 90s with roller cams also.

I miss fordfanboy already...
45 hp with ignition wires, 30 hp with rouier (old thread)exhaust... Who the f*** needs superchargers!! Right?

Beam me up Scotty and take me to warp.

I heard he got banned or something.
Last week end that is... Because of the turbo-S/C thread, witch you can't find anymore.

I missed the thing. I was in Daytona with some friends and was off the Net a few days.
I remember about an @sshole with 8 posts that butt in and called people names (me in particular, like I care) and it probablly went down hill after that. Doesn't mean the douchewas responsible, I just don't know.

WTF? GT's don't have spark plug wires?

So I had an old drag racer guy tell me that he used to gain an extra 45hp just by switching the spark plug wires for cylinder #1 and #7. He said it was an old trick to get free horsepower. So is this real or not? i find it hard to believe.
Considering we don't have spark plug wires on our GT's that would be quite unlikely...

For the cars that do, the plug wires are all the same and the guy was probably just mocking you. [:-]

and what does this have to do with 05-08 Mustangs? [>:]

Less than nothing
Hey I was just wondering, I obviously had no idea it was only on GM motors. And I didn't know who else to ask. I figured someone on here would know
Its not just for GM motors. The firing order between 351W's and 302/289's is different. The right cam in a 351 can take it back to the 302's firing order. I know this from experience, as trying to get a brand new 408W to run with the regular firing order after a second cam swap was very interesting...

Helped a friend rebuild a 351W to go in his ranger, and he ordered a cam with the 302 firing order. Needless to say, I know the hell you went thru.
