Default Well, didn't hit 12's yet....

But I still think I did really good for my first time with this car. Plus, 1/2 tank of gas, stock weight, nothing removed, 100 lb speaker box in the trunk and the fat driver mod, 80 degree weather. Track seemed good for me. I never spun, so I know I could have launced harder.

Got to run 3 times. Heres how I did, improved every run.

1st. 13.419 at 103.37 w/ a 2.057 60'
2nd. 13.366 at 102.08 w/ a 1.924 60'
3rd. 13.306 at 101.99 w/ a 1.922 60'

Theres 12's here if I take some weight out of the car and less gas in the tank. The fat driver mod will not change. lol

Not bad, but your traps seem very low? I don't know if you'll be hitting 12s without hitting 105 at least.

4.10's probably aren't going to help you with the tires in your sig. If you drop all the extra weight and get some 17's with drag radials, then 12's are doable.

Whats up Redfire, I was at the funday sunday also, I was the guy with the other redfire mustang. Good job for your first time at the track. Those 12s will come (just need to up that rev limiter and power shift!) Drop me a line when you are going to be coming out to the track again ( dont forget to lose that speaker box and come with less gas!). You should have stuck around for one last run, the clouds cooled the track a little and on my last run I ran a 12.898@107.13 w/1.840.

I'm on 17"MT Drag radials. I must have been bogging to get low 13's with such a high 60' and low trap speed. If the speaker box wasn't so hard to get out, I would. Maybe I will just take the speakers out. They are the heaviest part. Atleast its a start.

Hey Americanspeed, your car is doing awesome. I wanted to make sure I got home before/if it rained. I didn't want to be on the DR's in the rain on the highway. I'll let ya know next time I go. It will be when its cooler out I know that. And I will have less gas and probably remove the spare also. She finally did ask me about the helmet on the last run. I said I'm done. lol. I'm curious on what your car does without power shifting to see the difference. I'm not brave enough for thatyet

Moosestang, I was not getting a very good launch. The car was not spinning at all which is why I knew there was more in it. A 1.9 is not good with these s197's. Especially on DRs. I just need more seat time and I will see the 12. Unfortunatly, the 4.10's will be going in before I get to the track again. So 12's won't come with the 3.55's. But for the first time w/ this car I'd say I'm pretty happy with the way the day went. I was getting better every pass. Learning every time you go down.

Caution, what do I have to do to get the traps speed up? I have 3.55's, mac prochamber, JLT CAI and SCT xcal 2 tune in it? I haven't even been to the track in over 2 years

Lose weight, lol! I'm serious, that 100lb speaker box is costing you trap speed, along with extra gas and spare\jack. You can remove the front swaybar if you are serious about running good times. Who's tune do you have?

Your trap speed definately sounds low, but it's probably the extra weight and make sure you are shifting at 6200rpms atleast. You should not need to shift to 4th either, just incase you were. You will with 4.10's though.

My first run ever was at orlando speedworld and I only got 1 run and ran a 14.1 @102.5, that was with just CAI and tune. 2 months later without changing a thing I ran a 13.6@106 in Gainesville. Last time I ran a 12.52@117.4 (with all the stuff in my sig) with full weight and 1/2 tank of gas. So in other words your driving is much better than mine, LOL!
