Default It's December and I waxed my car

Well, here it is the 2nd of December, and it hit 75 degrees here in the Dallas area. That's a record for here. I decided this was my last chance to wax the Stang, so that's what I did. And I took pictures. This is the first time I've tried Turtle Wax ICE. Good Stuff. It eliminated one thing I hated about waxing - finding all the white residue in the small areas where it's hard to get out. ICE has no white residue.

I also finally installed a shorty antenna. Taking a hint from someone on here, I went to O'Reilly's Auto Parts and bought a generic black replacement antenna for $6. I cut it at 14" and put on a bead that I got from my wife. One of her hobbies is working with beads. I gave it a coat of flat black paint to cover up the scratches I made when I was cutting it and also to match the bead with the rest. Much to my surprise, it actually improved my radio reception. I think that the stations here are so strong that they actually distort the signal, so reducing the length of the antenna helped with that. Or it may just be the plecebo effect. Anyway, I think it looks great, and it works well.

If you don't want any white residue, than just take the extra 5 minutes to tape off everything. 3M Blue Painters tape works wonders. Next time around, try it and 2 coats of NXT. I'm a little OCD about detailing so if you want advice, feel free to shoot me a PM.

Whew! Way too much work for an out of shape 60 year old. NXT is great stuff, though. I have used it.
