Default So I think I need a brake job. Advise please

I have about 53 thousand miles on my 05 Mustang (which was born September 2004) and My steering wheel is starting to shake during braking sometimes. I had them check the brake pads but they said they were fine. So my wife said it probaly needs the rotors turned. It would be horrible if I had to get them replace because I heard they run about 100 bucks a piece. Sorry for being so incompent but since this isfour disc brakes I have four rotors right? Should I get a brake shop to do this or trust Ford. Sorry Ford mechanics' but really what should I do? Who else has had brake work.?

Sounds like warped rotors. You may be able to have them turned but this sounds like an opportune time for a mod! Drilled and slotted look great but I, personally, am not convinced theynoticably improve your braking. But most likely you only need the front turned or replaced.

After 53k miles I'd ditch the rotors and get new ones. Probably get away with the fronts only. get new pads at the same time.

Definitely sounds like they are warped. Most likely, the fronts only. I'd pick up an aftermarket set of rotors (slotted, not drilled - drilled ones can crack under heat) and Hawk pads.

+1, I have never turned a rotor. Always afraid they will get em too thin and overheat, then warped again and have to get new ones anyway.
