I've read that these doors save 150lbs per door, but I'm shocked that they do not function like normal doors.

does anyone know how much the trunk lid saves?

I spoke with Seibon at SEMA and they swore up and down that the doors were fully functional ... talked to HCM who has them and ummm .... no, they were everything but functional. Def a good mod when trying to loose weight and gain HP but I wouldn't do it at the loss of my Power windows

Alot of that wieght you can save would be to take out the regulator and motor assembly and throw in some plexiglass.

Guess that depends on your definition of functional. They are 100% functional they open and close. lol

lol -- Well I guess I didn't say all the details ... I asked them if the windows would work and they said yes -- if they did it would be a great mod to get

Alloutt, its the trunk lid/door part. It replaces the whole part that swings open. After paint it would look stock. I am told that piece will 'click' shut like the stock trunk but, with no keyhole, will just use the remote to click open, like stock.

But yeah... You'd have to survive some hurdles, like hoping it fits perfect, clicks right, gets painted correctly with the exact color match, etc, etc.

This is exactly what I would do to offset the weight savings.
