Default Setting tune back to stock for snow?

What you you think, should I set my tune back to stock for winter driving? I am assuming that less power will give me better takeoffs and, really, I don't think I need the extra power for snow.

Opinions?

I think you can accomplish the same thing with a light foot but it probably wouldn't hurt to return to stock. Better yet, get a beater and put the Stang somewhere safe...

I'm driving in the snow for the last 2 weeks with my VMP tune, no problems at all. I find I am smoother with the VMP, mainly because I am used to it now, and its more predictable. Its not the extra "power" thats going to get you in trouble, its the throttle response. You wont see the power unless you are matting it......which is stupid in the winter anyway.

Ive got Brents 93 tuneand this will be the third winter for my car. Driving with stock tires, a light foot and the TCS on, I get around pretty good. (I dont find it economically feasible to own a second car) Good luck and be safe!

It's just that sometimes the throttle is touchy, which I like in the summer. I feel that I am an above average driver in snow, plenty of experience, but sometimes my foot moves more than I intended to on the pedal.
Don't need a beater. Wifey and I carpool together most days.

I recently switched from my 93 tune to 87, all because of the winter. I don't need the extra power, and I will be paying less at the pump. I didn't want to return to stock because that would require that I pull off my CAI, and that would be wasted effort IMO.

I'll probably be driving in the snow with my race tune[]

We'll see how that works out, I might end up having Doug at Bamachips write me a winter/economy tune.

It's good to see some of you guys use your Stangs in the snow.

I went back to the 87 tune for the winter...race seasons over, might as well save a couple bucks and a few HP. But then again, my milage has suffered so I may go back...
