Default I hate dealerships

So I take my new mustang in to have them put in a couple of bolts on the heat sheild under my trans. First off, it was not my decision to go to the dealership, I could have done this myself with a trip to the hardware store and 15 minutes of my time. I also could have had my good friend who is a qualified mechanic do it and he would have not even charged me or kept the car overnight. But my parents insisted that I take it to the dealer for fear of losing my warranty. So I take it over there, explain the problem, and tell them where the problem is. At first them seemed like they have seen this problem a few times on the new stangs. This problem is common of course. The next day I get a phone call from them saying they have been driving and cooling the car down over and over to try and locate the rattle. I tell them AGAIN where the noise is coming from and they say ok and hang up to go fix it. A few hours later I get the same call again, we can't find it, blah blah blah, we might have to keep it another night.

Then I got pissed.

I told them to put the 2 ****ing screws in the heat sheild or I'll come down there and do it myself. How embarassing would it have been to have a 17 year old kid with no mechanic backround to come down there and do their job? Aparently this was enough for them to get it right and call me a few minutes later to tell me the car was finished.

I hate dealerships. **** my warranty.

I'm never letting my parents force me into bringing the car to the dealer again. They put about 30 miles or so on the car when you can hear the noise when it idles.

Me thinks people were test driving your 05. Maybe I'll ask the local dealership if they have any in the shop that I can test drive.

I don't know about other Ford Dealerships, but WE don't do that, and don't assume it's all dealerships, I hat when people accuse dealerships in general. If we couldn't have found the noise like in the first ten twenty minutes while you were waiting, then we would have let you come back there and actually point out to us what you think. Yeah they could have been dicking around who knows, and also, it does take some miles to diagnose certain things.

Got me thinking, I need to take mine in for the gas tank change. I think I will write down the milage, and maybe even check in and out all day, on the day they have it. No reason to test drive for a tank change !!

Here is another reason why you should hate dealers. This is an e-mail that was sent to me from Nashville:

The Mineral Gray Mustang is due to arrive sometime either mid-week next week
or the beginning of the week thereafter.

IF you have been looking for Mustang GT's you know how scarce they are.
When we got our original first shipment of GT's in early November - all 9
were sold the first day they were available - before Noon! Since that time,
the only GT's we've delivered were special orders contracted before
delivery - we have had virtually NO inventory GT vehicles. Approximately 3
weeks ago, Crown Ford purchased an allocation of GT Mustangs from an out of
state dealer - and have gotten 4 of the 9 vehicles delivered so far. Of the
4 we have gotten, 3 were immediately contracted for - the other one (it was
black) sold the day it arrived. ALL Mustang GT vehicles are priced at their
MSRP - there are NO discounts.

That being said, if you are truely interested in this vehicle, I would
strongly suggest you consider contracting for it before arrival. It's the
only way to assure it will be available to you when it gets here.

Feel free to give me a call to discuss this vehicle.

Thanks for thinking of us at Crown Ford
