I don't have a quality item but quantity.About a third of the time when I go to start my car I turn the key and freak out when it doesn't start...........

I have a push button start.....

Isnt't there supposed to be a limp home mode for major overheats? In case of complete coolant loss - I think then the engine only runs on each cyl every other time, so it fires on a cylinder, the next time that cylinder should fire it doesn't (to allow it to cool) and then fires the next time.

I'd be shocked if you blew the headgasket or warped the heads.

Well I had my car sitting for 5 days changing the rear pads because I couldn't find the tool to retract the rear piston from the caliper.
That'll be a screwdriver then will it?

Nope it has 2 small holes around an inch and a half apart.

Yes, it does but I wouldn't want to test it's effectivness. The now 4 cylinder engine turns into an air cooled engine on the lame cylinders. It got hot enough to blow coolant and that is a concern.
