i love my stang but old muscle cars just have an aura that surrounds them. plus not many people are driving that around so your going to be envied by many.

I'd be 50/50 on it.
EDIT: Didn't see the pics at first. Wow - I might go for the Chevelle, but only if the Mustang isn't your DD (point being: you would have something other than the Chevelle for your DD)

No comparison between the 2 cars. They are simply 2 different animals.
You certainly could not park the '72 in a lot to go shopping or anything like that.
Is this for you to be a daily driver? Are you a mechanic?
I do have one question............."Where are the tires? Looks alright on the Mustang although anything bigger than the 18's to me is ridiculous looking..........but on the Chevelle?????????whew!!!! They'd laugh you out of a classic car show! that should just never ever be done. Its just wrong.

Man! 20's on a 1972 Chevelle.... Wheres my gun!
Seriously they dont fit the car at all.
I dont really see anything that great about a 1972 SS350 Chevelle (No 396 or 454 emblems).

I don't think that is a true SS Chevelle. Looks like it has it has a bench seat and a column shifter? What motor is in it? Get the VIN and I will decode it for you.
The Chevelle would be a great weekend car, but not a daily driver. those wheels on the Chevelle have to go.

my dad bought a plain old Malibu (with V8) in 1969. many of the same construction and materials. that Malibu was a real lemon.
in addition to all the better ways the later stang compares to the older chevy, the newer car is safer.
hang with the stang

RE: Should i Trade my mustang for a chevelle
It depends on the Chevelle. If it is in perfect condition I would consider it.
Check out this site for a reference on pricing: http://www.collectorcartrader.com
Most good condition Chevelles are 24K or better. At best that is what you could get for your GT.
Further, the older muscle cars (Chevelles, Stangs, etc.) keep appreciating in value. Your mustang will only decline in value.
However, I would not do it if it was my daily driver.
