Default Cutoff Times for 2005 Models???

Anyone know when Ford will cease production of the 2005 GT's to begin preparing for the 2006. Was told by my dealership that I may not get a 2005 and may have to wait for next years model.

Ordered mine of February 15th and was told that I should get it by May 15th. What a way to ruin my day. Anyone else running into this problem...

There are other posts on here about this "news". Many replys say it is dependant on the number of cars that dealer gets this year. That you may still get a car from a larger dealer.

I don't know how true this is, but try a search with cutoff as the key word.

Good luck !!

Are you sure about a cut-off already. I ordered my Gt on 2/25 and the dealer didn't say a thing about it

Ordered Mine 2/15 and was told on 3/8 about the possibility that I may have to wait for a 2006 model. Might be more dealership crap....don't know for sure.

Go to the Blue Oval News site. There they have a list of Job1 dates. Dates for the last orders and dates when the 06 production starts. The cut-off date for the 05 Mustang is June 24th and the start of the 06 production is August 8th. Dealers can order your cars upto that date but it all depends on the allocation system which the smaller dealers get screwed. Seems like most of all the allcations are going to larger dealers. They are in turn ordering the GT in the premium model. All the deuxe models seem to be going to Saleen so they can add about 18K to the sticker for 25 more horses and a bunch of plastic to the body.

I ordered my 05 deluxe on 11/17 with the IUP and Shaker 500 options. Not a hard order to fill but I am still waiting to be serialized. The sales manager at the dealer is doing what he can. It is a small dealer and I know him very well plus he is selling it to me for $150 over invoice and giving me a trade value on my 02 Mustang V6. It is frustrating him as well as me since the weather is getting much nicer now.

I don't see why Ford can't process the orders from customers in the order they were input into the system. Then if they are caught up on the cutomer order, process the dealer stock orders. This would help give all the loyal customers an even ground. I know there are alot of dealers out there that some retail stock sitting on there lots but like I said they are getting them in the premium models so they get more money out of the car than the deluxe model.

I know there are gonig to be more and more people getting very frustrated at the way that Ford has handled this years production of the Mustang. Granted they build them at the brand new assembly plant in Flat Rock MI and may have a rocky start to make the assembly more efficient, but they should be working like pros by now and the supply of the parts should have been resolved by now. I know the MyColor option was resolved but that didn't hold up production. The only thing holding up production is the way Ford is handling the orders. I say get rid of the allocation system and just process the orders as they get them.
