0-60 times
I installed a Steeda CAI and Brenspeed's 93 octane tune several weeks ago. Well, today, I decided to try the 87 tune. I installed it and test drove it for a few minutes. The car seemed kind of sluggish, so I put the 93 tune back in. That thing's like cocaine. Once you try it, you can't do without it.:D
Anyway, that's just a kind of preface to my real question. After I put the 93 tune back in, I remembered the XC2LiveLink program that came with the tuner, and decided to try it. I set it to log RPM and speed and a couple of other things. Then I went out to a back road to try it out. I stopped, turned off TCS, and floorboarded it. It took 5.4 seconds to get from 0-60. Now, I didn't preload the transmission or anything - I have an automatic, BTW. I just went WOT from a full stop. Would I get a much improved time if I preloaded the transmission? Here's the graph from LiveLink. I trimmed the log file to just the important part - that's why it starts with 129 or so seconds. http://billhall.net/pix/0-60a.jpg Here's a link to a full size picture of the graph: http://billhall.net/pix/0-60.jpg |
RE: 0-60 times
I dont know. I used a calculator that figures your 0-60 times off 1/8 mi ET and Speed.
This is supposed to be more accurate than using 1/4 mi numbers. It is supposed to take rollout (of staging beams) into consideration. It claims a best 0-60 mph of4.69 seconds. Whats really interesting is a similar calculator says my 1.958 60' equates to a speed of 41.79 mph after 60'. Although thattime doesnt take rollout into consideration. I dont put much faith into these numbers but they are fun to play with. Whats really interesting is my old dragster was doing 75 mph after 1.1 seconds. |
