Looks like Ill be waiting another two months
I figured Id post this in follow up to my last thread. I ordered an auto back in the beginning of november because I was worried I couldnt handle the stick with the drivers in vegas, but I went and drove a manual this weekend after support from everyone on here and now I want a manual. My build date has not come yet for my other car that I ordered a while back but I called my dealer and he said it is to late to change my order. So it looks like I have to wait another couple of months for my mustang to get here since I have to basically start all over again. Do you guys think my order can stil be changed and my dealer is just being lazy or do I really have to wait two or more months more?

To hell with the dealer. I'd call Ford corporate and expalin to them. They can probably satisfy you and have your order changed, PLUS slap the dealer down for being a *****...

I ordered mine, and I believe that you can still change it, and don't have to accept the car that you've already ordered (especially since it hasn't been built yet), but if it's been a while since you ordered it originally, the dealer is correct that you have to start over, I think. You won't have the same dates because Ford has to queue it all over again with different parts, etc. They probably plan out what's being made when, which is why you can't just say, "oh, by the way, can you change that?" It would cramp up the entire system and cause all sorts of delays.
I could be mistaken, I can't remember exactly...sorry...

If your car is still in a "unschd/clean" status then it should be no problem for them to change it. I believe once the car is actually assigned a VIN number you are locked in.
This should give you some insight into the process. http://www.f150online.com/forums/sho...=priority+code
Even thought this info is on a F150 site, it works the same way for all the orders from Ford.

No sweat. Believe me, I know how you feel. It took 8 month and 3 weeks for me to get my car!
There was a lot of info on here at one time about build codes, and priority numbers etc.. If you have the time search through all the
old info. I'm sure the time frame of being able to change am option was covered on here. Everything else surely has been!
Good Luck
