Remote start questions?
Okay so I have been reading some of these post about remote starts for manual trasnmittions. I know the safety issuesBUT I have also read on this forum that there are some that are "safe". So let me see if I understand this correctly: For the auto start to work the car MUST be in neutral and e-brake MUST be inor it is not going to work, right? Are these full proof? I just want to make sure that the car will not rollaway. I think if the car MUST be in neutral and e-brake MUST be in then it seems like it is safe. If this is the case what do you all have that are "safe and full proof"?

RE: Remote start questions?
i dont know if the stang works the same but with my old passat if i left it in gear bye bye car, it would idle in first until it hit something which made it slow down causing the engine to die

RE: Remote start questions?
buddy don't do it, my son has the viper allarm w/ remote start even when I told him it could be aproblem the installer hotwire the clutch so it would start without depressing the clutch, but have you heardabout MURPHYS LAW ( what can go wrong wil go wrong )
he installe new rims and the guy left the car in gear he started the darn thing and the car took off and hit a pole the rest is history
on automatics is another story cause the car will be in park and there should not be a problem ( Think about it)
My $ 0.02

RE: Remote start questions?
Yup, I have the best alarm money can buy. And opted out of the Remote Start. To many stories about leaving it in gear. Even people that have had theirs for a couple years have made that one little mistake and "BAM!!!"
