RE: Question regarding tranny swap on a GT
I am more interested in knowing if it will indeed be better, in all aspects, like highway rpm, low end power, city driving, MPG, etc.
I think we have a 10t, but I am taking this info out of my *** so dont trust me too much...
We need someone with knowledge here....

I thought a 6-speed would be better because of the extra gear? That extra gear allows you to run a lower final drive ratio, like 4.30 and shorter, while still having great highway speed.

Mustang GT TR-3650 = 10 Spline.
GT500 TR-6060 = 26 Spline.
Many of the SC and Turbo cars have snapped the 10 spline with Slicks and an aggressive clutch.

Mx, go ahead and call the ddperformance number, they were very helpful in answering all the questions I had about the swap. The big advantage, as Gene points out, is that the 6060 can handle more.
Ohnoesaz, the 6th gear is the same as our 5th, it's 0.62, so the highway rpm's won't drop with a swap. When I called ddperformance, if I understood them correctly, they said there are no conversion kits out there to put the 0.5 6th gear in.
