Hey all,[/align][/align]Today I pulled a little too far forward in my parking spot and scratched up my front bumper - both the black area in the middle and a little on the driver's side painted portion (it's a CS). Can these urethane (I'm assuming they're urethane) bumpers be repaired, i.e. with some form of urethane filler, or is the bumper basically a dispoable item? If so, price check on a CS bumper![/align][/align]Robert[/align][/align]

A truck pushed my front bumper in while my car was parked, the dent was about 1 by 2 inches wide and about a half inch deep. Since only a couple hours had passed, I rushed home and squeezed the top edge to distort it. After about 20 minutes of cussing and working the dent out, the dent was gone. Now the bumper looks like new.

Easy fix, and if dented even pretty significantly, remove bumper and with a heat gun and leather gloves you should be able to get it back almost to being perfect. It can then be sanded to a smooth finish and painted just as it was originally (adhesion promoter on bare urethane area) For acrack that goes completly through is generally better to replace the bumper. ...a small crack or hole can be repaired with a soldering gun, though no shop is likely to do this as they can't very well warranty the work. I did this on my 2000 Mits bumper about 5 years ago with still no signs of a repair being made.
