Default Answer to the eternal question of which filter is best/fits the C&L intake

After much research I never actually had an answer/part# of the replacement filter for my C&L racer intake. I had about 10k miles on the original C&L (?) filter and was ready to replace witha quality filter. I decided that I wanted a "non-oiled" filter like the one on my truck (AEM synthetic) and decided on Amsoil since I use (and love) their lubrication products. Yes, I am an Amsoil fanboy .

There were two that appeared to fit, the EaAU4070 (a 3.5' internal/1.75' flange diam w/o the cool cone filter) and the EaAU4090 (which has the cool cone filter end and is also 3.5' int diameter w/ the cool cone filter but is quite a bit longer). Ireally wondered ifthe 4090would fitand decided tojust go ahead and order one anyway.

Well it fits and fits perfectly! It's synthetic media and filters with 98% efficiency which gives me peace of mind and it really looks good underhood with the blue gaskets from the intake, like it was made to go together. Thought I would share with everyone:

Yep, good thing to know. Amsoil synthetic filters are good stuff (and look good underhood!).

I'll never have an oiled filter again. You can clean these things with an air hose!
