Default Removing factory spoiler

OK, I'm trying to remove the factory spoiler so I can install my Shelby-style spoiler. I've read all the posts about using the fishing line, etc, but I'll be damned if I'm not having a really hard time getting this thing off. It looks like theres 5 pounds of adhesive under it. I don't want to pull up too hard and damage the decklid or anything. Anyone have any other tips or similiar experiences? I have some 3M adhesive remover. Think if I sprayed some on it now it would help break it loose a little bit?

IF you have already sawed thru the adhesive with fishing line, you might need to heat it up with a blow dryer..Also, find yourself a nice thick blanket, and lay it down on the trunklid toward the rear window. Then pry up from under the stock spoiler with your fists / thumbs with steady pressure. It will eventually let go, but keep an eye that you do not put so much pressure on it to dent your trunk lid. When it pops loose, you will know why you laid down the blanket.....

Good luck,
Mike

+1 on the Firm Steady Pressure.....Then all of a sudden...."POP" and it's off.

That's the best piece of advice there, because otherwise your next post will be..."How much to paint the trunk lid?"

Thanks for the tip on the blanket! I'll make sure to do that!
