Mac's too loud for a vert?
Hi all, I've been spending a bit of time lately on youtube.com listening to all the different exhaust setups and I like the sound of the Mac axle-backs the best but I was wondering if they might be too loud when driving with the top down. I'm not planning any other exhaust mods for now but for up front, I'll get the C&L/SCT/Brenspeed combo.

No MACs for you. If you have resonators installed.. the drone goes away. But.. they are still loud. Listening to audio clips does not do them justice. They have a really deep tone that gets lost when recorded.
They really sound badass though.. but installing resonators is a must.

Thanks for the replies, I should have mentioned that it's a stick shift. It's interesting that the drone gets louder with the top up. The problem with most of the other axle-backs is that they either sound close to stock or too tinny. What I like about the Macs is thatthey have that deep rumble without sounding like a Dodge Ram truck.

Macs sound really good, especially when doing a second gear pull from 2000 all the way to redline. I like them. They are pretty loud on cold start up but when the car warms up they are quiet at idle. Yes the drone is an issue, but only when in 5th gear at maybe 50-60 mph after that it goes away. Plus they look good under the car as they are a polished muffler, not just the tip.
