Default One trip down, many more to go i'm sure.

Well I have an '05 GT auto. 23k miles, have owned it now for 1-1/2 weeks. I't has been backto the dealer once so far for arattle in the dash/console area as well as the TSB 05-9-11for the popping sound during low speedmaneuvers. The rattle in the dash/console area is said to be [from the dealer anyway]the trans. crossmember exhaust hanger insulators. The rattle is LOUD at times depending on what RPM and what gear I am in,but the sweet spot seems to be between 1500& 2500 RPM's in first second and third. In drive with the brake fully depressedit will start to rattleand sounds like crap I have to put it in nuetral so it will stop. It sounds like it is coming from the shifter area I am starting to think the crossmember is one rattle and the console areaanother. Well let's see so far I have a rattle in the console, one with the crossmember, the upper strut mounts are bad and recently I read a thread about water intrusion for the passenger floorboard GREAT. Needless to say I LOVE this car. LOL

My friend has a 2008 GT-CS, and it has a rattle at low rpm's under a load. It also sounds like there is something on top of the transmission that is not fastened down and rocks from side to side and vibrates against the car body at times. I didn't have a mirror, so I couldn't look on top of the trans to see what it might be.
