Default 07 Mustang Steering Wheel Vibration

Please please help with this issue. I have an 07 Mustang when I first bought it there was a large scratch in the steering wheel. Ford replaced it and cannot recall if there was vibration. Shortly following this, I purchased 18in AR razors on it and noticed that after I reach 60+mph the wheel starts to vibrate really bad. Each of the wheels have been rebalanced, and to no luck this did not fix the problem. After this, I ordered centering rings and this too did not do anything. I am at my whits end and wondering if maybe it is a steering wheel linkage problem or an individual wheel. Please if there anyone has any ideas voice them. Thanks!!

Did you take off the retaining clips from your wheel hubs? That's most likely your problem.

You just remove your wheel and break them off...or screw them off. Here's a pick of TacoBill removing one. Each of my hubs had one clip, but you may have more than one on each. Take them all off. They cause your wheels to wobble because your rim is not completely snug against the hub.

will that clip really make your steering wheel that much? Also should I keep the centering rings on after I take these clips off? No safety issues with this right?

This is a pix. But apparently they are suppose to make your rims fit more snugg. The guy recommended them but they are not worth S*%$. No he wants to put some device on each wheel to see if one is defective. Sorry on the other post my question was will these retaining clips really make the steering wheel vibrate that much? Thanks for you help and I have heard other people recommend removal of these clips.

yes, keep your centering rings on. they make a significant difference. and if the retaining clips are still present they will definitely affect balance.

It's the tires. I cant believe the people that balanced them didnt see it and let you know. If you have a tire out of round then it'll shake your wheel, especially when it's cold or you first take off.
You could rotate the front to the rear and hope that it's just one tire.

Good luck.

You guys beat me, when I clicked on the post, there was 0 replies, I guess the page wasn't refreshed, lol.

But yeah, remove those clips, It's most likely whats causing it. I'm not sure if the Razors require a centering ring. Instructions?
