x is gonna sound like poo IMO, much more raspy than the H, you had it mixedup i believe, the H will be deeper...i would have an exhaust shop straight pipe it, then fab up an H pipe for you...

i was talking to this guy i met the other day at a gas station, he had a s197 also, it sounded really good so i asked him about his exhaust set up and he said he had no cats and magnaflows. i told him i wanted to go longtube headers, o/r x and stock mufflers for better performance, he told me that thatset up was actually gonna slow me down. IS THIS TRUE?

Slow you down? No. and X pipe sound vs. H pipe is in the ear of the beholder. X pipe supposedly provides a bit better performance over H pipe. I have long tubes with catted x and it is very nice and rumbly.

drone is generated by the mufflers.

I like to hear the H- pipe fitted car over an x-pipe fitted car any day but that is my PREFERENCE....if it were me and you wanted a deeper sound go with the H-pipe! JMO J

They both have their benefits... just depends on what you're looking for. The X is louder and sounds slightly more rasy however gives an average of 3 RWHP gain. The H is deeper then the X and gives a really throaty sound without the rasp.

+1 to sherwood -- mufflers generate the drone

Personally I run the O/R X with Bassani Mufflers -- like the tone I have
