Default Calling All Black Cars

I have swirls in my paint and it really makes me cringe. What have you guys used to get rid of these for the best shine? Any personal tips, etc. Thanks guys

Oh and feel free to post pics

Depending on how deep they are, there are a number of methods to remove the swirls. If your swirl marks are just surface marks, then you can probably get away with doing 3 stage buffing with buffer polish and compound. When buffing or having someone buff, make sure they know what they are doing. Things like RPMs of the buffer (how fast it is spinning and the heat it generates) and pad usage etc all create swirls if not used properly. If the swirls are kind of deep, you may want to color sand the car and that will remove virtually all of your outer most surface scratches, scuffs, swirls etc and even orange peel depending on how far you go with it. And black as you may very well know, requires the most attention and care. It is important to use quality cloths and chemicals on fine paint to maintain the depth in the original color.

Here's my friend:

He works good on most of the swirls... there are a few here and there that are a little deeper that he won't get out, but most of them are replaced by an incredible shine!

Yeah I'm really liking the flat black stripes, but I am also in love with my Bullit rim colored stripes I have now

I have the same problems. So I did this:

Went here: http://www.autogeek.net/po.html

Watched the video numerous times and will watch again just before I attempt it.
I bought the Porter Cable intermediate swirl remover kit for my Xmas present.
From what I've read and heard, It's pretty hard to totally screw up.

I used to use that garbage.

http://www.blackfireusa.com FTW!!

It's pricey, but WELL worth it. I have NEVER gotten so many compliments on my car as I do with that. And the carnauba spray wax/detailer? KICK ***!!

Check it out. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. The majority of the guys on bmcforums use it.
