My Stang has a Shaker 500. I am looking in replacing the HU with an Alpine IVA-W205 and add a Saleen Subwoofer. Does anyone have input on this setup. Is the Alpine a good unit and how does the Saleen Subwoofer sound? Thanks!

Should be good. Never heard of a Saleen subwoofer.

A friend of mine has the Alpine unit and he loves it. He said it even made the stock speakers sound better.

The Saleen Subwoofer is offered on the Saleen Mustangs. It integrated with the Shaker 500 system. It is suppose to sound better than a Shaker 1000 Subwoofer. I haven't heard it though.

I had the IVA-W200 till it got stolen [:@]I loved it. The only thing I didn't like was the price of all of the options. I'm going to get the Kenwood DX7019 in a couple of weeks, the other guys here seem to like the Pioneer AVIC D3. I'm going with the Kenwood because of overall price of a Kenwood system, amps, speakers, subs etc.. (I'm **** like that). But yeah, I really liked the Alpine and if I wanted to invest the cash in a NICE system, I will go with all Alpine.

I haven't heard the Saleen Rockford setup personally but I think it's over priced, there are a few guys on the Saleen sub-board that say it sounds underpowered.. but you'll have to dig for that thread. The IVA-W205 has sub preamp outputs which gives you a whole new slew of options, all you'd need is an amp and two subs which would sound a whole lot better than the Saleen setup. You could pick up two Punch 10's, a box, and Amp for less than the $400+ the Saleen setup is going for.

I was thinking about this setup, the only thing keeping me back is I want the KAC9103D 900x1 amp instead of the 500x1.
