anyone know a website to get some of these? I want to get a steering wheel center overlay that has the GT emblem. and a dash plaque of some sort like the ones in the shelbys, also anyone know where to get the word mustang in black to go on the passenger side dash.. like in cursive.

They got it for me... You need a LL carthough.
Check with people that do engraving and signs, they mighthave samples of different writting and caracters.

You're not going to find any overlays for the steering wheel emblem. I believe Saleen uses one but they are not for sale. You will also see the embossed pony logo through whatever you put on there. I removed my emblem and replaced the whole thing with something I made myself.

As for the Mustang lettering for the dash.I have seen them on Ebay.

Yeah I wish there were some aftermarket emblems for the steering wheel

Not sure how the center cap is shaped underneath but you could get a machine shop to fab up a metal peice for it (whatever material), get it laser engraved with whatever you want, painted, brushed or polished so that the lettering shows the paint, then get it coated with something (or not). Now the easy part would be finding out how to attach it SAFELY...

That would work if they can machine it from both sides, because what the emblem is attached to is a convex surface (back of emblem is concaved)

The original steering wheel emblem is attached with metal tabs at the edges.

I took a mold of the steering wheel without the emblem, then I made my own emblem out of clay that you can bake in the oven, then backed it and took a mold of that. I then cast it in plastic and painted it. To attach it I used a small piece of double sided tape to hold it in place, but to really attach it I used emblem adhesive all around the tape.

if you mean like in this pic, you can pick up a stick-on version of the '68 Mustang emblem from Late Model Resto, CJ's Pony Parts, etc. for about 10 bucks. Never seen one in black, but you could certainly paint the chrome one whatever color you wanted.
