CAI / Tune ONLY Cars in the 12's Check In!
To the Mods! Please dont move this! I want to get maximum exposure among the 2005-2008 owners.
If you own a 2005-2008 S197 GT with Tune Only, CAI/Tune Only, or CAI/Tune Axle-Back Only that has run 12's check in!
I know there are two CAI/Tune cars on this forum that have been 12's.
One has Justin from VMP as a witness. The other has Jim Howard (George Howard Racing - Million Dollar Bracket Race and B&M Series).
Im not saying you have to have witnesses I just want to see how common this is.
We havea Doubting Thomas or two on this site.
EDITED: To add the time from my sig SINCE NO ONE WAS READING IT! LOL
Bama Tune + JLT: 2.017 8.382@85.11 12.973@107.09

Gene, I won't be taking my car to the strip until early spring. You know, when it's not too hot outside. Only problem is, in addition to axlebacks I have 4.10 gears now. So, it's not stock per se. But, I'll still post the slip for information.

Although I think hitting 12's is fairly easy for N/A cars with boltons... I do not believe just a CAI/Tune will do it. Although a guy posted on here recently of doing it?
I'm sure someone with CAI/Tune, gears, aluminum driveshaft and other bits and pieces can get well into the 12's, but I dunno, just CAI/Tune? Ill be watching this thread....

Interesting topic -- Some of the results here are going to be based on how close to sea level they are but even taking that into consideration... I just don't see it happening with just a CAI/ Tune. I'd like to see if someone going to Cal Speedway claims they can do it... I would def go to the track when they are there to verify

Well, with a CAI, Tune, UDP's and LCA's, on my G-tech I pulled a 12.88 on street tires at full pressurethe other night, and my tune is ridiculously on the safe side until I can get some time to datalog and test. Once I have it dialed in, I am thinking high to mid 12.7x's. I could easily see 12.99 coming from just a CAI and tune with a good driver who has more experience than just a dozen or so trips down the 1/4 mile. I don't think an Auto could pull it off. I think there's been a few guys on the forums here with just an CAI and tune that have posted up 12.9X slips.
