My car definitely falls into that group. I am modding the car just to see how fast it can go down the track.Car met its track goals forlast season and has new ones for this season... probably just continue until it's no longer streetable.

to be unique and better than stock
I really like my 85 t-bird because its unique (I've only seen 3 around here that even looked of the same style) but I haven't driven my tbird in over a year because it doesn't hjave the power of the stang
so Power and to be unique

When I go to a car show, the first S197 I want to see is the one with the most and the wildest mods. I appreciate the ideas, planning, workmanship and overall appearance of other people's efforts. Itshows me what's possible and what's available for when the time comes (which is now) to start my own project. Mine will never be as wild as I'd like it to be for practical reasons so, seeing these highly modified beasts is a special treat (that includes the great collection of rides on this forum). Last year,I sawa blue coupe with Aston Martin V12 - awesome. Yeah, we mod to be different, to show off, to attract attention and for personal gratification. I could even go as far as saying that my GT became my hobby.

Caution
Remind me not to park next to your mustang at a car show. Noone would give mine a second look. Gasp.... Still with those tinted windows can't see inside, maybe my interior is nicer and more comfortable than yours?
