Default full synthetic oil

my car has 15000km on it and i changed the oil every 5000km from the dealer and now i want to do my third oil change out side the dealer using mobil1 full synthetic oil but the shop says i must buy an oil filter from the dealer. my question is should i buy factory oil filter or does full synthetic oil need a special filter?

You can use the factory motorcraft oil filter for any type of oil. Your shop DOES NOT HAVE TO use a factory oil filter for any oil changes. As long as you use oil and a filter that is equal or better than the factory (which mobil 1 is awesome andI use that and the K&N oil filter) and you have all reciepts for the oil changes you are fine and they have to honor any warranty work that affects the motor unless they can prove that the better oil filter and full syn oil caused the breakdown or mechanical failure of any said parts! Take care and this should help!!!! J

The Motorcraftoil filter is really pretty good, just don't waste your money on Fram.

I actually use Mobil 1's oil filter as well as their full synthetic. Got both on sale.

I agree, especially when you can get it for about $60 a case.

I also agree, do not ever use a Fram filter. I'll stick with my Motorcraft filters, personally.

Since you are using Kilometers in your question, I assume you are not in the US. But for those of us here, dont forget, if any manufacturer (or representaive of)tells you that to maintain the warranty you must use a certain product or service, then they are REQUIRED to supply it for FREE. I cant remember the name of the act, but I'm sure someone here will add it. Anybody care to challenge Procharger on the use of THEIR oil for the head unit? But since they give enough with the initial purchase and also when you buy the extended warranty, it will be hard to run out of it anyway.

Yes, a full synthetic is the way to go. Mobil1 is an excellent choice and dollar-for-dollar, is the way to go. I use Mobil1 in my SUV but I use Amsoil in the Stang. I've seen reports where the Motorcraft oil filter compared extremely well to others and you can get them at Wal-Mart for about $3-4. Oil changes on the STang are easy. I just did mine kast night.

What's a km??? j/k. I use Amsoil signature series 0w-30 and Mobil 1/K&N filters. I've heard that both Mobil 1 and K&N oil filters aremanufactured by Champion Labs. Those are really well made and can go >10k miles (I change my oil at 5k so I know it's good). I get one or the other depending on what I can find nearby...
