Where to put my Garmin GPS

Where to put my Garmin GPS
OK so I got the gift that I really wanted for Christmas, a Garmin GPS unit. It is mostly for work, I do service and installation for a security company. But when I drive the Mustang I will want it with me. But where to put it? On the console is OK, but I do not want look down that far to see it. I am in California and I read something about not being able to mount it to the windshield. I am not going to drill any holes or use double sided tape. The bestlocation seems to be between the a/c vents, but how do I mount it there? fd

if you dont want to use any type of tape or drill hoels you really limit your options, its not like it will just float there for you, you could try velcro, but then you'd still have to stick it to the dash

Garmin has a friction mount that sits on the dash and doesn't slide around. I have a Garmin Nuvi GPS and the mount works great. I got it for about $35.00 from Amazon but you can buy them direct from Garmin.

Well if you don't want to use any of those things you need to get a custom vehicle mount from www.proclipusa.com Take a look at their site and lets us know what you decide to do, I would like to see the end result.
I personally used 3m 2way tape in between the center A/C vents.

This is exactly what I was looking for.The bean bag would never work with the way that I drive my Mustang. [8D]fd

clip might work but how far out is the bracket going to put the gps?
Here's mine. I used the windshield because it is much easier and safer to glance at when it's up that high. It barely takes up any view of the road. Our hoods already block enough. I just have it as low as it can go without hitting the dash. Looks great, especially when I don't bother with the power cord.

I got the 330 for xmas myself. I mounted it to the glass low on the drivers side a-pillar to keep it within line of sight without obstructing my view. The only issue is having the power cord strung across. [:@]Anyone know how long the battery lasts without the power cord? No info in the manual.

I sell these gps's all day at work. I work at Circuit City. The battery life once fully charged is 5-8 hours. For the 330 its 8 hours.

At the CC near me, in Santa Monica, only 1/4 of the ones on display worked! And the salespeople were too engaged gossiping at the register to bother with anything like "selling"!
That's why I got my GPS online!
