Default Dealer wouldnt budge no matter what.

I went to my local ford dealer today, I know the owner so I decided to stop in and say hi.

I went over to the guy who sold me my 07 redfire gt, he tried to talk me into a gt350, I just laughed and said thats a car thats not worth it, he looked at me and laughed also and said your right, none of these are worth the mark up, I said they are not even worth the sticker price , he just laughed again. I said.. so whats up with that Saleen out there, he said OHHHH they would give you a good price on that I bet, its a brand new 06 ???????? I was like an 06 ??? I said humm ok if i would have my same monthly payment as what i have now ill take it, just to see what would happen, he went into the office and came out and was nodding his head no.......the price didnt come down a inch !!!!!! WTF ? am i in the Twilight zone ? they have been sitting on the car for more or less 2 years and they wont budge on the price....That kinda stuff realllllyyy pissssesss me off. Whats wrong with them ?

That is surprising that a Saleen wouldn't sell in 2 years - there must be a huge markup! Is it an Extreme? What is the markup?

I tried calling a dealer about 45 mins away and they won't even get back to me to tell me what the markup is. This is on a GT500 - I figure I'd see what the markups are now before I start more mods like FI.

I'm surprised, I got a pretty good deal on my V6 because it had been on the lot for 3 months and they wanted to get rid of it. That is when there weren't any deals going for the stangs. It's hard to believe that after 2 years they wouldn't give you a smokin deal just to get it off the lot.

The guy said it was 50,000.00 [:@] I dont know what they sell for new but that doesnt sound like a discount price.

Just like a salesman to call it a "GT350"!

No such thing!

^^^^^^^^^^

+1 I was going to say when did this happen, heck I'd be all over one if they did, but the Shelby GT is not a 350 not in my books anywho. The Ford Dealers are thieves all of them. If I wasn't soo damn loyal to my Fords I'd buy a friggin Dodge.

Dealers vary widely in what they do. I've always been more than willing to go on a road trip to an out of town dealer to get the car/price I want. I'm convinced some dealers behave a certain way....because they can.[:@]

Thats very weird that they wouldn't move on a Saleen, especially a 2006! They have 2006 SaleenS281 3V with under 200 miles for sale for 30K at a dealer! Thats a fully loaded GT price!
