pay off the 05 asap and then use all that extra cash each month to rebuild your 05 as you like and buy a beater to slow the mileage racking up on the stang

05 with 60k were did you go??
I live about 42 miles from work, it's obviously 84 miles round track. That and I love to drive my car, so I put alot of miles on it weekends and weeknights. To sum it up, I did 3k oil changes almost once a month. 30k a year, I expect to be at 80-90k by end of 08.

I dunno man, doesn't seem like a smart financial decision. There's really no difference between an 05 and an 08 except if you option the 08 differently with colors and etc. I mean, if you kept your 60K stang in good shape it should run just as good as brand new 08... heck maybe it's even a little faster to 60 and on the quarter mile stock to stock.

If you're set on the new Mustang I'd just wait till late 09 when they roll out the refreshed Mustangs for the 2010 model year.
It wasn't so much about getting the upgrades or different colors as it was the fact that my miles are so high and by the time it would make financially sense to trade, I would have 100k miles on it.

If you are putting that many miles on the car, keep this car and get a car just for work that gets good MPG....you will be money ahead

hear's a option for you, drive the 05 12 more month's to pay it off, wait till the 09's come out put 2-3 grand down on a 09 and keep your 05, your warranty good till 2010 on the 05 you can keep the 05 for a dd and the 09 for the weekend's keeping the mileage down on the 09 this way you can own2 mustangs!!and you wont lose any money tradeing inthe 05 at the dealer.
BINGO........
Well I wish it paid off in 12 months, but i've got about 30 months left. this plan would work perfectly if that was the case....
