Default Q on lowering rear

I just want to lower the rear of my car 1" or so to lose some of the wheel gap. I see a lot of kits that offer springs for the front and rear, but I just want to lower the rear. What do I need to get? Is it a do-it-yourself install or should I take it somewhere?

I think I'm going the same route. I'm almost positive that the only kit out there that you can only buy the rears is the Roush kits. Another recomendation would be to replace the rear shocks as well. I'm not sure if Brand really matters but Roush offers a pair of shocks to use with their rear springs. It's pretty damn easy to do the rear shocks and springs, I wouldn't pay anyone.

roush is the only ones that sell only the rear springs, that I know off. It's a do it yourself job if you have a jack and jack stands, which I assume everyone owns.

Is that all I need is the rear springs? Anything else needed? Do I need to get an alignment done after lowering it?

No, that's all you need. You can get the Roush Springs from Summit.

I just swapped my rear springs for the Roush last week. Took me about 30 minutes couldn't be easier. Check this write up for how to do it. https://mustangforums.com/m_3070963/tm.htm As for needing an alignment mine checked out fine both the pinion angle and centering of the rear end, so nothing else was needed. The car was a little bouncier at first but seems to be better now, the car has also settled a little and the total drop is about 1"
