Default Body and paint experts for CS bumper

I seen apic in a magazine of a car with a CS rear bumper that had the air diffuser area painted the car color, it looked awesome! How much work or trouble would it be to smooth out that area? Or could you simply paint the texture and have it look ok?

You would almost definitely need to smooth it out first, IMO, otherwise I think it would look odd. Do you have a link or copy of the picture? I'd be curious to see what it looks like.

You could probably take a page from the guys who have sanded and primed their own mirrors in preparation for having them painted, but I know there's people more knowledgeable than me on here when it comes to things like that.

You don't need to sand it smooth. With texturized area, you need to spray adhesion promoter first(think of it as sprayable glue) and then, paint over after tack off.

The CS front and rear bumpers are texturized all the way around the bottom... The 4 corners are painted over from the factory.

The lower part of the GT500 is flat textured black, that ad has it painted. And I believe the CS is a different bumper. Because it has a different lower line

Do the reserch... Tired of posting on that subject on a million different threads.

SHELBY GT
GT500
GT/CS SAME MOLD= SAME BUMPER

The GT500 is left black all the way across the bottom...
It's a paint difference, not a shape difference.

My intention was not to be a Jerk...
I apologize.

It's just I get saturated on those bumpers. On the forum and off the forum.

So the best thing to do would be to answer the questions politely. One big difference about the 2 bumpers is price. The CS part # is cheaper. And that I know

You're paying for the name man[8D].
That Cobra emblem, that goes in the upper grille on the GT500 is $60.
Not outrageous, but way too much for plastic.
